Big Moments In Small Spaces
I’m not sure if I remember what life was like without a camera, be it my first small film instamatic or the exciting moment when I purchased my first professional digital camera. Either way, when I discovered that a photograph could capture all the beautiful details I might otherwise forget, I was hooked. Like many other women I have boxes, albums and frames filled with the photos I’ve created throughout the years. Some are better than others, but all are important. Together these images tell the collective narrative of my life ~ the silly, fun, blessed and heartache filled stories and journeys.
Many years ago when life’s journey brought me into the garden, I again discovered that my photography could also captures the bigger picture of the beautiful smaller spaces in gardens. That’s the moment I truly fell in love with photography. Through depth of color, texture, and contour, digital photography allows me to pour my thoughts and feelings into images. Images that inspire others. Images that remind us to enjoy the magic of the garden, first created by God, and filled with science, art, allegory, humor, heartache and goodness. Images that say each garden is different, each season new, each small space is filled with its own big moment.
Soothing or startling, I’m blessed to enjoy this life. It’s not always easy, but it never gets boring. Never.
