I’m originally from Chicago and relish a chance to go back and visit. Now through March 20th the Chicago Flower Show is treating everyone to a welcomed dose of spring. The Navy Pier location has been transformed into a fabulous display of eye-popping color and is chock full of ideas for small space home owners. Don’t forget to bring your kids and grandkids. There’s lots of opportunities for the young ones to have fun and learn about gardens. But be forewarned, you may have a hard time pulling them away from ZooBloom, an incredible, child-friendly display created by Brookfield Zoo.
This year’s show boasts over 20 garden displays plus a host of new sponsors, partners and features. They’ve turned up the flower gusto, engaged learning communities throughout the city, and are poised to help you create a unique garden experience no matter what size your garden. Here’s a sneak peak at what the show offers.
Brookfield Zoo’s ZooBlooms
Aquascape’s inventive water designs….
No space is too big or too small for a water feature.
Chicago High School’s unique display featuring modern day career paths in agriculture including horticulture, mechanics & technology, food science, animal science and Ag finance. This was one of my favorite displays. The Ag sciences are alive and filled with incredible youthful energy. Chicago does an awesome job of showing what today’s kids and teachers are doing together.
Need a little inspiration for your next gathering? Chicago has always been a hot spot for entertainment. The Tablescapes garden is filled with ideas for gatherings throughout the season.
If tulips and other blooms are on your mind, no worries. The show is awash with floral color at every turn.
That’s just a small taste of what’s happening in the Windy City. For ticket and additional info visit Chicago Flower & Garden Show 2016. If you go be sure your phone batteries are fully charged. You’ll be like everyone I saw….snapping away!
Spring is definitely here and more shows are lined up in the Midwest. I’ll have info later this week on Macy’s Minneapolis Flower Show kicking off Sunday, March 20th.
